History

The Belle Chapel building is the original Methodist Church built in Snohomish in 1885. It was originally constructed on the corner of 3rd Street and Avenue C. In 1910, the church was moved to its current location at 3rd Street and Avenue B. The building was later raised to construct a fellowship hall and kitchen on the garden level and a pastor’s study and church office was added on the sanctuary level.

The United Methodist Church held their worship services in this building until 1992. The original church building was sold to finish the much larger United Methodist Church building located north of Blackman’s Lake in Snohomish.

The building was purchased and restored and is now used as a wedding chapel and reception hall. This historic building is registered as the Original Methodist Church on the National Register of Historic Places.
